Vallalar – an Iconoclast ?????   Its really a matter of shame , even after 135 yrs of Swami’s dematerialisation, we are still debating about his works without understanding him in the real sense  I  Suddha Sanmargam :  as perceived by  members :  * Feeding  the poor – will open the gateways to heaven ( Jeevakarunyame Motcha veetin thiravukol )  * No meditation or Sadhanam  is required * Leading a compassionate life ( dhayavu )  will fetch everything while the truth is : aspirants  are addressing one side of coin of compassion, but they know not the other side of the coin Sanmargam is wrongly understood by most of the people. Vallalar has clearly explained that Suddha sanmargam means , it envelopes all “ Religions and Faiths “ in it and stands aloft and above these , but does not mean they are all wrong . All religions  lead  to certain levels of experiences only, which is not the ultimate  Its just  like SPACE – is “ No- thing”  and “ Nothing “ ( Suddham ) but all physical matters and objects are within the space  Sameway, Suddha Sanmargam is beyond all the religions and its experiences but contains with in it,  all religions and experiences. Ref : Prose – Arutpa :english  transliteration “Immargathuku – Sanmargathukku , matra margangal allathana allaway anri – Illathana alla “ translation : Suddha Sanmarga is beyond other religions but all religions are within it.  This hype of No religion is just to boast as “ Elite class of people “ to be  different from others” A person studied Degree means , he has come across basics like arithmetics, alphabets , chemical equations in lower classes etc  Now , govt has banned the recognition of Open university degrees  Vallalar explained , not to follow religions because , it can’t show the end/ultimate  point, because , it itself doesn’t know where it is ?? Hence asked , not to follow religion , not on grounds of reliability etc  The ultimate of Suddha sanmargam is no where near bounds of  religion, Vedas because , they themselves are searching and hence asking us not to follow , but at the same time they are not wrong even II Sanmarga Theeksha:   Sanmargis boast  as though they are following 16th step directly – Gnanam in Gnanam – hence no meditation is required. What a sorry state and misunderstanding?? No meditation because , they don’t know what to do in a sanmargam way ?? if you concentrate between the eyebrows – it becomes religious way – all are teaching this way – how to be different and show we are different from religion?? Hence no meditation But there is an initiation – called “Sakshu Theeksha “ ref : “ Kann Ulle Kada “ – a recent article by Thanga Jothi Gnana Sabhai – Kanyakumari  & www.vallalyaar.com this process of initiation is the theeksha , which swami refers at many places : Kanne – Maniye – Maniyin Oliye at many places National poet’s refers this initiation and meditation as “ Kannan” and “ Kannamma “ in his poems ( not human beings , but personification of organ – EYE ) In “ Thiruvadi Pugazhchi – swami refers as thus : Mikka Maal “ vizhi “  ilangum patham Antha maalum arivaritham patham It is said that : Vallalar was put into this initiation at the age of 9 at  Thiruvottiyur, Chennai and he was practicing this meditation in seclusion in his house at  7 wells st, Mint ( now Vallalar Nagar ) with a mirror and a lamp Intense practicing of this meditation , leads to : union of 5 senses leads to hearing of Nadha – roaring of seas , sounds of bell etc ( My practical experiences ) stillness of mind – not absolute stillness  Intense practicing of this , guides & takes the practitioner to higher echelons of consciousness on its own  – no efforts &  self priming required – Auto liftment  Popular verse : Sadhanam inri onraiyum sadhippaar ulagill illai swami says:  muthi enbadhu munnuru sadhanam sithi enbadhu nilai serntha anubhavam muthi adainthen ammuththiinaal sithi adainthen So, it becomes evident, some sadhanam is inevitable –   sadhanam + real compassion ( as discussed here ) combined will lead to upper most echelons of consciousness III . Compassion – Dhayavu :  We are in ordinary Jeeva state of consciousness – hence we are right in calling we are following – Jeevakarunya Ozhukkam – feeling sympathy and empathy for others sorrows  and hardships But we have not risen to the : “ Consciousness of the SELF “– Atman to follow – SOUL Oneness” – “  AnmaNeya Orumaippadu “ –  Only after the conquest of the experience and VISION  of the SELF – after inferno of 7 veils , it is certain , one can follow “ Dhayavu and Soul Oneness  “  till , this is not attained – what ever we say is ONLY VERBAL – VAI JAALAM – No reality in it…
